Careers for Truck Drivers

Resumes are being accepted for positions as short-haul and long-haul truck drivers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)

Duties:

  • Maintaining all necessary certifications in accordance with DOT, MOT, Health & Safety, and company policies
  • Operating trucks safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban, and rural routes
  • Keeping track of pickup and delivery records and obtaining the required signatures/receipts
  • Keeping track of all time and distance traveled while carrying out assigned duties
  • Being able to work in a variety of weather, temperature, and road conditions
  • And offering outstanding customer service
  • Regularly inspecting trucks before and after trips, keeping thorough records of delivery routes, logs, sheets, and incident reporting
  • Verifying product deliveries at customer locations and keeping track of customer invoices
  • And adhering to safe work practices and health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of professional driving experience (preferred)
    • A resume that clearly highlights your experience as a professional AZ or Class 1 driver
    • A driver’s abstract valid within the last 30 days attests to your safe driving record
    • A criminal search valid within the last 30 days
    • Strong communication and customer service skills with fluency in English
    • For US drivers, a valid passport or FAST PASS Card

Details of the Montreal Area Terminal

The bilingual region of Montreal, Quebec’s largest city, and its surrounding metropolitan area is well-known for its universities, arts, and culture. Additionally, it has been listed as one of the world’s most livable cities.

The only Canadian city to host the Summer Olympics, Montreal is a key hub for organizing conferences and events around the world. The area is well-known for being a hub for transportation and pharmaceutical and aeronautical innovation, which makes it the perfect place for PDI Bulk.

In the vicinity of Montreal, PDI operates four terminals:

Montreal East Terminal

With 65,000 square feet of warehouse space, on-site logistics, blending, silo and tank storage, packing, bulk trucking, and washer bay capabilities, our Montreal East terminal is situated close to Pointe-aux-Trembles. Our Sherbrooke St. E. facility, which is accessible by both CP & CN Rail, can move a variety of chemical and polymer products.

Lachine Terminal

Our Lachine terminal is situated next to the CP rail line and right off Highway 20. In addition to on-site logistics, blending, packaging, silo and tank storage, bulk trucking, and washer bay capabilities, this terminal has 40,000 square feet of warehousing space.

Varennes Terminals

In Varennes, we have two terminals. Just 30 minutes from our Montreal East facility and 5 minutes from our second terminal in Varennes, the first is situated along Rte Marie-Victorin and offers 30,000 square feet of warehouse space along with on-site logistics, bulk trucking, and packaging services.

Directly opposite from the Costco Wholesale Distribution Centre, the second terminal has 150,000 square feet of warehouse space as well as capabilities for bulk trucking, logistics, blending, packing, maintenance, and washer bays. Our Varennes facilities, which are reachable by CN Rail, can move a variety of chemicals, polymers, and necessary food items.

COVID-19 Considerations:

At our front desk, PDI has put up clear plastic barriers. Public gatherings and social gatherings are not permitted in the buildings. All of our locations have PPE, including masks, gloves, and sanitizer.
