OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
12Hr Day & Night Shift Openings
Along with working with ABM operators to keep the machine stocked and operating, the Packaging Associate handles tasks including moving product from the machine to the warehouse in order to prepare it for transportation, as well as other responsibilities as needed. This position’s backup will be Machine Operator II.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- complies with personal and product safety regulations to complete all tasks safely.
- checks the product for visible flaws and fills out the necessary papers.
- respects the specifications for each product’s packaging.
- accurately places mini bins, corrugated boxes, and web in boxes on a pallet.
- knows how to pack by hand and is capable of doing so.
- reads a ruler precisely, down to the 1/16th.
- takes the stuff out of the machine.
- throws away faulty goods, such as scrap bags.
- Its capable of correctly separating and banding cores.
- knows how to remove recyclables and scrap from the manufacturing floor.
- All good products are packed according to the specified method, which includes using the pack help and auto pack equipment.
- follows the proper aseptic procedures and closes boxes, bins, and mini bins.
- correctly packs bags by reading the product specifications.
- finishes the Lean documentation, including the hour-by-hour board.
- the ability to enter DAS data.
- basic operation of additional bag-making auxiliary tools, such as the Tap Inserter, Dip Strip Loader, Bag Separator, and other necessary tools.
- Inform the proper staff and/or the shift management right away of any recurring flaws or faults with the machine or product.
- collaborates with the ABM operator to maintain the machine’s supplies and functionality in ways that will improve OEE, safety, and quality.
- helps the department in a variety of ways in the event that the machine breaks down.
- Maintain the designated space tidy in accordance with the Safe Quality Food (SQF) and established 5S/Lean/Housekeeping standards. To guarantee a secure and orderly workspace, the 5S idea calls for keeping the workspace tidy, getting rid of anything superfluous, and putting everything that is needed back where it belongs.
- examines products, materials, and containers at every stage of the packing procedure.
- teaches workers how to perform Pay for Skills Level 1 assignments.
- Remove and replace materials from the line to take part in setups and changeovers.

- actively engages in Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Safety, and Continuous Improvement (CI) programs in accordance with plant objectives and specifications.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or G.E.D required.
Proficiency and expertise:
An ability to work overtime and all shifts.
Possession of the ability to read and comprehend documentation, including safety regulations, policies, and procedure manuals.
Utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all quantities or measures.

The ability to occasionally move and/or lift up to fifty pounds is required.
